In this parable, Jesus reminds us that while we are called to plant and grow in the field of faith, it is not our job to judge or uproot others. The focus is on the state of our hearts and spiritual habits, both of which shape our fruitfulness and usefulness in God’s Kingdom. Through the imagery of wheat and weeds, we’re shown that God exercises patience, allowing time for transformation, but will one day bring a final and just separation between the faithful and the false.
