An undeniable theme that is revealed in the Bible is that God is not afraid of the dark. What does this mean? God allows for extremely dark and desperate circumstances to arise in the lives of those who follow Him. He is not allergic to the presence of heavy problems, impossible dilemmas, and frightening challenges. We would likely prefer that He just caused things to be easy and comfortable for us, but that is rarely how He leads us. The greatest example of this truth is seen in the events surrounding the resurrection of Jesus Christ. His followers felt for three days that they had lost everything in which they had placed their hopes. Death, confusion, fear, and shock overwhelmed all of them. Then…something stirred deep within a sealed tomb. God the Son brought light and life into darkness and death in a singular event called the Resurrection. This overcoming miracle is why we can be assured that victory is ours forever.
