Why was Abraham chosen to be the first Jew instead of Noah?

When a Torah talks about someone for the first time, it usually introduces the person to us. However, there is no formal "introduction" of Abraham in the sense of a biography or detailed backstory. Instead, his calling by G-d is highlighted as the starting point of his significance.
