Growth Mindset vs. Fixed Mindset

Hello and welcome back to the Mess to Success Podcast! Today's episode we are going to be chatting about how you can go from feeling like a victim in every situation to feeling like a victor! Changing your mindset can have such a huge effect on your life. Not just in terms of productivity, smashing your goals and getting shit done, but also your well-being and mental health!

Your thoughts create your reality. If you assume everything will go wrong then you are more likely to attract a bad outcome. If you have a more positive mindset, then you are more likely to have a better outcome. That is the fixed mindset vs a growth mindset.

Growth Mindset: the belief that qualities such as intelligence and talent can be cultivated through effort and applying yourself. Although people are innately different and are born into different environments with different upbringings, you can learn any skills you apply yourself to or achieve any goal so long as you make the choice to do so and put the effort in to learn or achieve it.

Fixed Mindset: The belief that the characteristics you are born with is what you will be stuck with for life. If you try something and aren't good at it, it's because you weren't born with that talent and should give up. People with a fixed mindset might even believe that some people are just more gifted, intelligent and talented and that's the way life is. What ends up happening is that you get trapped by your own lack of belief in yourself or your abilities.
