Why You Keep Saying “I’m Fine” (When You’re Really Not)

Listen Later

In this episode, we’re looking at the autopilot answer we all give, “I’m fine” and what it’s really covering up. I share how I used to say it so often it became a reflex, even when I was completely numb inside. Because the truth is, “fine” isn’t a feeling. It’s a defence mechanism.

I explain how your nervous system uses “fine” to stay functional when honesty feels unsafe and how over time, it disconnects you from what’s actually going on inside.

We talk about how to break the habit gently, starting with small, honest swaps. Instead of “fine,” try “I’m tired but hopeful.” Or “I’m stretched but managing.” These aren’t dramatic. They’re human.

You’ll also hear why starting with the body (not the mind) is key. I guide you through a simple self-check-in that helps you notice what your body is feeling tightness, heaviness, restlessness and why that opens the door to real regulation.

This episode is your invitation to stop performing wellness and start practising real connection with yourself first.
