Buying less stuff will give you more time for what you like doing, such as learning, thinking, reading or playing football.
If you think that buying things is what you like, maybe you should think of the following: "Buying stuff is a mask of your own insecurities". I found this idea in the book "Freedom from our addictions" of Russell Brand and it has a lot of thoughts on it. Buying things such as fancy clothes or a nice pair of sneakers often show interior insecurities and you hope that the 'things' will defend you.
How do I buy clothes? Based on this three principles:
1. Buy as few things as possible; buy just what I truly need; this means no dog t-shirts, key rings or 10 pairs of jeans.
2. Buy things that you genuinely like; don't buy something for the sake of buying it; if I don't feel like spending the money now, better wait; it's better to buy something 2x more expensive and use it that buy something that you will never use.
3. Buy durable things;
