Why You Should Consider Taking a Social Media Break

Lacey recently took a social media detox consisting of a week off of all social platforms and was able to gain some great insights. In this episode she shares those insights, what she learned about herself, and why you may want to try a social media detox yourself!

  • Ways to let go of content that doesn’t serve you
  • Questioning our own thoughts and beliefs and where they come from (i.e. our they our own or do they come from social media influence)
  • The feeling of guilt that may come up as a nurse on social media

  • Nurse gaslighting

 

If you feel traumatized in any way by things you see on social media, get stuck in a rut of scrolling, feel guilty about yourself after consuming content, or it’s become habitual to go to certain apps on your phone when you have free time, it may be time to consider a social media detox! AND, remember, what is portrayed in the media (both mainstream and social) is not always the full picture. In fact, it rarely is! Don’t allow what you see to scare you away from your profession or your life.
