Another great month of training with Andrew has come and gone… somehow. We knocked out our 100km requirement for the Fat Dog 120 this month. I had an amazing day on the trails with a crew of support, and I learned a lot. Those lessons will be taken forward as we get ready for the 120-mile beast in August (that’s, like, really soon). I had a couple of other long runs after the 100km effort, and I was definitely feeling it. So we’re prioritizing recovery as we take on these last few weeks of training. I’m feeling confident in the work we’ve done but still terrified of the goal ahead. It was a great time to catch up with Andrew, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoy working with Andrew!
Coach Andrew Miller is once again taking me under his wing as I prepare for my longest personal challenge to date, the Fat Dog 120. Andrew coaches for Team Run Run, and he and I will chat for a few minutes each month about what we’ve been working on and why we’re working on it. The idea is to give listeners an idea of what it’s like to work towards a goal with a coach. It will be a blend of advice specific to me and to the community, and he will give us an idea of why he is doing things. The opportunity to work with a coach and also learn about their process is one I’m excited to share.
Last month on The Miller Minutes, Andrew and I chatted about staying present and not fearing the unknown:
