2) Your success is not defined by competitors. You cannot let them set your goals. You have to set your own. 

Homework:
When you find a competitor of yours- I want you to start naming everything they are great at. What do they kill it at? What are they known for? What are their best qualities?

Then go through everything you are good at- what do you kill it at? What’s your passion? Is it the same? Is everything identical?
