A discussion on the recently published article in SurgiColl, titled: Wide Awake Surgery: A Review of Cost Savings Potential.
In addition to discussing this article, we will do a deeper dive on Wide Awake Surgery in general.
For this episode, I am excited to be joined by my friend & colleague:
Dr. James Clarkson
Dr. Clarkson is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon who trained in England and Canada, followed by a Hand Surgery fellowship from the renown Kleinert Institute in Louisville, KY.
Dr. Clarkson has spent the past 15 years as faculty at the Michigan State University, he established the Hand Management Unit, and has championed wide awake hand surgery in the office setting. He is extensively published in wide awake surgery and has pioneered virtual reality as a distraction technique for office surgery.
As well as our host, Dr. Asif Ilyas.
