With 48 million homes in the U.S. at high risk of wildfire, it’s more important than ever to take easy steps to protect homes and communities from wildfire destruction. May 3rd marks Wildfire Community Preparedness Day, a day which encourages groups and individuals living in wildfire-prone areas to complete risk reduction projects that can help make their homes and communities safer.On Wednesday, April 30, Michele Steinberg, NFPA wildfire division director, will be available to discuss wildfire risks, why some structures survived the recent LA wildfires, and share recommendations on simple projects that can help better protect homes in the event of a wildfire.
