The Mount Eneas fire has grown in size, forcing the evacuation of almost 1500 people from a large area of Peachland, in the Okanagan. Properties east to Highway 97 are under a State of Local Emergency. The order impacts about 596 properties. Wildfire Service Spokesperson Kevin Skrepnek says crews are facing challenges including warm temperatures and tough terrain. About a dozen blazes were triggered by a lightning storm which passed through the Okanagan Valley corridor on Tuesday night.
