Today we discuss Environmental Pioneer and fellow Pennsylvanian, Rachel Carson. She sparked the modern environmental movement bringing scientific ideas to the forefront of the public eye.

Her book, Silent Spring, may very well be responsible for the conservation efforts that allow us to enjoy Pennsylvania Wildlife and Trails.

She is honored in many ways from a bridge named in her honor in Pittsburgh to being the namesake for the PADEP building in Harrisburg.
