In Ranked Choice Voting, voters rank candidates in order of their preference. If no one receives a majority on the first round, the lowest ranked candidate is eliminated and the second choices of their voters are then distributed. The process continues until someone has a majority. RCV Albany is working to put such a system on the ballot in Albany, either through a vote of the City Council or by petition. Dorian Solot discusses the effort with Mark Dunlea of Hudson Mohawk Magazine.
