No doubt you're a good person (not perfect, of course!) trying to do good things. It would only be fair for God to reward you for good behavior. What was so alarming about Jesus was that he didn't deal in "fair". Good people and bad people were all put on the same level with him. It made some people so angry. It made others feel free.
