Welcome to The Times of Israel’s Daily Briefing, your 15-minute audio update on what’s happening in Israel, the Middle East, and the Jewish world, from Sunday through Thursday.
ToI founding editor David Horovitz, senior analyst Haviv Rettig Gur and US correspondent Jacob Magid join host Jessica Steinberg.
Horovitz and Rettig Gur discuss the possible plea bargain for Benjamin Netanyahu, a radical development in this ongoing situation and what it would mean for the former prime minister, who has repeatedly asserted that he is a victim of a frame-up.
Magid joins the podcast from Colleyville, Texas, outside Dallas, where he is reporting on the hostage situation that took place in a Reform synagogue on Saturday morning, in which the rabbi was one of four hostages.
Horovitz finishes up the podcast with a look at the unconfirmed report regarding an Israeli agreement to indirectly pump natural gas to Lebanon, moving it from its offshore field to Jordan, and from there to Syria and onto Lebanon, a possibly "surreal" deal, he said.
Discussed articles include:
