Surrey Mayor Linda Hepner unveiled six key recommendations as part of the release of a report into gang violence in Surrey. It’s in the wake of several deadly shootings, the latest; 46 year old hockey dad Paul Bennett, who was gunned down outside his South Surrey home on June 23. The recommendations focus on keeping children out of gangs and, as we heard earlier, Hepner wants to ‘make life miserable’ for gangs. But at a grassroots level, will this really work? And what does that even mean?
