Today we discuss about racial tension after St. Louis cop shoots and kills teen and how the narrative reinforces belief systems people already believe.
Liberian ebola patient dies in Dallas while Jesse Jackson questions level of healthcare provided, further reinforcing racial divisive belief systems.
Cardiff University builds barricades over warm air vents to push away the homeless.
All that and more today on The Live Show.
What everybody already knows: The world economy is slowing
S&P 500 has best day in a year following Fed minutes
http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/10/08/us-markets-stocks-idUSKCN0HX15220141008
U.S. markets jump, dollar falls on Fed minutes
http://in.reuters.com/article/2014/10/08/markets-global-idINKCN0HX2AR20141008
Because the Federal Reserves voiced openly that it was concerned about slow growth and that with the price of the U.S. dollar was going up, the Fed minutes said that they are concerned that inflation may stay low.
That, in turn, means that the Federal Reserve may not, in fact, raise interest rates as it was anticipated.
That, in turn, caused a massive drive north in the Dow Jones, the Russell, the S&P 500.
But I still think there is more downside to this
What we're seeing now is volatility returning to the market.
And, what I think you can take away from this whole experience is that if you needed any more evidence that markets are 100% psychologically driven, look no further than the Federal Reserve minutes.
The Federal Reserves did not put out anything that anybody didn't already know. The European Central Bank has been talking about the slowing European economy. The IMF came out recently about slower growth in China, European Union, and Japan. And we've all seen the strengthening dollar against the Euro, the Pound, and the Yen.
So, the question becomes: what was everyone so excited about?
What on Earth was everybody all up in arms about yesterday?
The Federal Reserve knows and fully understands cause and effect. All of the things the Federal Reserve said, they already know. Yet, none of them were buyers. They were all net sellers, the day before yesterday.
Why?
Everybody has already formulated their opinions. Everyone is working from a framework of their own beliefs and they're coming at it in their own reality. The perception is the reality. What they are really looking for is a validation or a vindication of that ideology, of that belief system.

St. Louis police fatally shoots a black teenager
Off-duty St. Louis police officer fires 17 times, kills 18-year-old suspect in gunfight: cops

The "Reverand" Al Sharpton and the "Reverand" Jesse Jackson have really become just race baiters. Any time they can turn anything into a racial debate, any time they can draw lines based on color, ethnicity, they are ready and willing to do it.
You should judge me by the content of my character -Martin Luther King
"I'm sick and tired of people being judged by military service, the badges they wear on their chest, the color of their skin and no consideration being given on the content of their character." -Jason Stapleton
Point in case, the Ebola patient has died. And immediately, the "Reverand" Al Sharpton and the "Reverand" Jesse Jackson are quick to turn it into a racial issue.

Jesse Jackson questions level of care for Ebola patient

"I appreciate you," Weeks said to hospital staffers. "No amount of thanks in the world I can give you. [I am] forever in my debt for treating a man who had no means. He had no ways. But you treated him like a diamond. I appreciate all the efforts you're putting in. Thank you on behalf of my family."
This is what his nephew told the people at the hospital.
Jesse Jackson, on the other hand, sees nothing but color, nothing but a man's race.
This was a Black man who got sick and died. And it's a perfect opportunity for him to get into the limelight and allows him to drive up racial tensions in this country.
This is not the same thing that Martin Luther King was doing. Martin Luther King said I just want to be judged as a man. That's all. I just want to be given the same rights as every other man and be given the same opportunity that every other man is given. I don't want any special favors, any special treatments, I just want to be treated the same.
That's not the same type of activism that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton promote. What they say is, 'you can't do it. You can't get ahead. Everybody is against you. Look at all these situations where poor Black kids are getting shot, defenseless.'
A man comes over from Liberia, contracts ebola, ends up dying in a Dallas hospital, and there's Jesse Jackson talking about the Black man who didn't get fair treatment.
This is the ideology trumping common sense
And what happens? He stews up racial animosity and racial hatred across the United States. It's so ingrained. People actually believe that they can't get ahead. People actually believe that they don't have any opportunity. That there is no way, that it doesn't matter how hard they work, they are never going to get ahead because of the color of their skin.
Where does that come from? It doesn't come from Martin Luther King.
Let me tell you something that nobody else is going to tell you. You can do it. Whatever you want in this life, you can have it. America is still the land of opportunity.
