Willard appoints Hugie as new city attorney

Willard’s City Council appointed attorney Amy Hugie as the city’s new legal counsel Thursday, approving her se- lection unanimously before hearing brief remarks from both the incoming and outgoing attorneys. Mayor Travis Mote introduced the appointment by calling Hugie “the most qualified,” noting that she lives in Willard and has been involved in local planning issues. Public legal directories show she has practiced law in Utah since 1998 and earned her law degree from the University of Utah. The appointment passed unanimously on a motion and second.
