In 1980, Willie Davenport became the first Black athlete to compete at the Winter Olympic Games. Along with competing in the 110m Hurdles in 4 consecutive Olympics from 1964 to 1976, he also became the first Black athlete to compete in both the Summer and Winter Olympics.
