Alright beach lovers and wave chasers, gather 'round for the final surf report of the 2024 season!
The National Weather Service Wilmington has officially closed the curtain on this year's coastal surf zone forecasts. From the sandy shores of Pender County's Surf City and Topsail Beach to the vibrant beaches of New Hanover like Wrightsville and Carolina Beach, the wave-watching season has come to a close.
Brunswick County's beautiful coastlines including Bald Head Island, Oak Island, and Sunset Beach are also saying goodbye to daily surf updates. Our friends up in South Carolina aren't spared either - the beaches of Horry County from Cherry Grove to Myrtle Beach and Georgetown County's stunning Pawleys Island and Murrells Inlet are also tucking in their surf reports for the winter.
But don't hang up those surfboards just yet! Mark your calendars because the National Weather Service will be back with fresh surf zone forecasts on April 1st, 2025. That's right - just in time for the spring break crowd and early season wave riders.
Until then, keep your boards waxed, your wetsuits ready, and your stoke high. The ocean might be taking a forecast break, but the waves never truly sleep. Stay salty, surf community, and we'll catch you on the flip side of winter!
Surf's... technically not up right now, but soon will be!
