Surf's down, beach lovers! As the autumn chill settles in, the National Weather Service Wilmington has officially closed the curtain on the 2024 Surf Zone Forecast season. From the sandy shores of Pender County to the sun-soaked beaches of Georgetown, we're tucking away our surfboards and beach umbrellas until spring.
Surf City and Topsail Beach in Pender County have bid farewell to their summer swells, with Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach in New Hanover County following suit. The Brunswick County coastline - from the charming Bald Head Island to the picturesque Sunset Beach - is also transitioning into its winter slumber.
Heading south into South Carolina, the beloved beaches of Horry County - including the vibrant Myrtle Beach and laid-back North Myrtle Beach - are joining the seasonal farewell. Georgetown County's serene stretches like Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island complete our coastal goodbye.
But don't hang up those beach dreams just yet! Mark your calendars for April 1st, 2025, when the National Weather Service will once again bring you the pulse of the waves, the rhythm of the tides, and all the surf-tastic updates you've been craving.
Until then, stay warm, stay stoked, and keep those surfing spirits high. The ocean is just taking a quick winter nap, and before you know it, we'll be riding those waves again!
Catch you on the flip side, beach crew!
