Surf's officially closed for the season, beach lovers! The National Weather Service has pulled the plug on surf zone forecasts for 2024. From the sandy stretches of Pender County's Surf City and Topsail Beach to the pristine shores of New Hanover - including Wrightsville, Carolina, and Kure Beaches - we're battening down the coastal hatches.
Brunswick County's beautiful beaches from Bald Head Island to Sunset Beach are also saying goodbye to official surf reports. Our friends up the coast in South Carolina aren't immune either - Cherry Grove, North Myrtle, Atlantic Beach, and all those gorgeous Horry and Georgetown County coastlines are calling it a wrap.
But don't hang up those surfboards just yet! Mark your calendars for April 1st, 2025 - that's when the National Weather Service will fire up the surf zone forecasts once more. Until then, keep an eye on local conditions, respect the ocean's moods, and maybe use this downtime to wax that board and dream of epic waves.
For all you die-hard wave riders and beach enthusiasts, the coastal quiet isn't the end - it's just an intermission in our ongoing beach romance. Stay stoked, stay safe, and get ready for next season's aquatic adventures!
Catch you on the flip side, surf community!
