Beach lovers, it's time to hang up the surfboards and stow away the beach gear! The National Weather Service Wilmington has officially closed the curtain on the 2024 Surf Zone Forecast season.
From the sandy shores of Surf City and Topsail Beach in Pender County to the vibrant beaches of Wrightsville and Carolina Beach in New Hanover, the wave-watching season has come to a close. Our Brunswick County beach friends at Bald Head Island, Oak Island, and Sunset Beach are also wrapping up their coastal watch.
Crossing state lines, the South Carolina coastal zones are joining the seasonal farewell. North Myrtle Beach, Atlantic Beach, Myrtle Beach, and the charming Pawleys Island beaches are all tucking in for the winter.
But don't get too bummed out, wave riders! Mark your calendars because the National Weather Service will be back with fresh surf zone forecasts on April 1st, 2025. That's right - just a few months of anticipation before we dive back into tracking those coastal conditions.
Until then, keep your boards waxed, your wetsuit ready, and your beach dreams alive. Winter might be calling, but summer's sweet surf is just around the corner. Stay stoked, coastal adventurers!
