Catch ya later, beach lovers! Summer's officially wrapped up, and the National Weather Service is hanging up its surf forecast board for the season. As of tonight, October 31st, 2024, we're putting a pin in the surf zone reports for our beloved coastal regions from Pender County, North Carolina, all the way down to Georgetown, South Carolina.
From the pristine shores of Surf City and Topsail Beach to the vibrant beaches of Wrightsville and Carolina, our coastal playground is taking a well-deserved winter break. Bald Head Island, Oak Island, and the charming Holden Beach will quiet down, while Myrtle Beach and its sandy companions settle in for the off-season.
But don't get the winter blues! Mark your calendars because the National Weather Service Wilmington will be back in action on April 1st, 2025, ready to serve up the latest surf and beach conditions. Whether you're a die-hard surfer, a beach wanderer, or just someone who loves the rhythmic sound of waves, we'll be here to keep you informed.
Until then, stay warm, keep those surfboards waxed, and dream of those sunny coastal days just around the corner. The ocean might be taking a breather, but the anticipation of the next beach season is already building like a perfect swell on the horizon.
See you in the spring, wave riders!
