Listen Later

Surf's up, beach lovers! We're diving into today's coastal conditions along the Carolina coastline, and it's looking like a pretty sweet day to catch some rays and potentially some waves.

Starting in Pender County, Surf City and Topsail Beach are serving up a mellow scene with 1 to 3 foot surf and a low rip current risk. The southwest winds are cruising at 10 to 15 miles per hour, making for some nice sailing conditions. Water temps are sitting comfortably in the mid 60s, and with a mostly sunny sky and temperatures climbing to the mid 70s, sunscreen is definitely your friend today.

Heading south to New Hanover, Wrightsville and Carolina Beaches are presenting similar vibes - 1 to 2 foot surf, low rip current risk, and that gorgeous very high UV index. Just watch those rays, beach warriors!

Brunswick County beaches are mixing it up a bit. East of Ocean Isle Beach, you're looking at 2 to 4 foot surf with a low rip current risk. Over at Ocean Isle Beach West, things are a touch calmer with 1 to 3 foot waves and a moderate rip current risk for today.

Wednesday's forecast shows a shift in the mood - clouds are rolling in with moderate thunderstorm potential and waterspout risks. Surf heights will hang around 2 feet, so still decent for some water play, but keep an eye on those changing skies.

By Saturday, expect slightly more action with surf heights potentially reaching 2 to 4 feet and temperatures climbing to the upper 70s. A chance of showers and thunderstorms keeps things interesting.

Bottom line: Grab your board, your sunscreen, and your sense of adventure. The Carolina coast is calling!
