Surf Report - Wilmington NC

Wilmington NC, Surf City and Topsail Beach Surf Report for 06-28-2025

Listen Later

Surf's up, beach lovers! Get ready for a sizzling Saturday along the Carolina coastline. We're looking at a moderate rip current risk that'll keep lifeguards on their toes, so swim smart and stay alert.

From Topsail to Wrightsville, expect sunny skies and temperatures climbing into the upper 80s, with heat indices pushing close to 100 degrees. Pack that sunscreen because the UV index is screaming very high today! Water temperatures are sitting pretty in the mid-70s, perfect for cooling off.

Southwest winds around 5 to 10 miles per hour will create a moderate longshore current, so be prepared for some subtle wave action. Surf heights will range from 1 to 3 feet along most beaches, with Ocean Isle Beach west seeing slightly larger 2 to 4 foot swells.

Tides are looking consistent across the region. Topsail Inlet will see high tide around 10:25 AM, while Mercer Pier follows suit with a high tide at the same time. Lockwoods Folly and Winyah Bay aren't far behind.

The good news? No thunderstorms are in the forecast today, and waterspout risk remains low. Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas might see a slight chance of a passing shower, but nothing that'll ruin your beach day.

Sunday looks similar, with rip current risks dropping to low and continued sunny conditions. Just remember to stay hydrated, watch the currents, and enjoy that beautiful Carolina coastline!
