More about Derek Gilroy: Derek is an actor born and raised in Toronto. At the young age of 8, Derek knew he wanted to be a performer. He started out as a dancer with a focus on jazz and hip hop and then pivoted to his true passion, acting. He has been a professional actor for over 15 years and has shared the screen with talented artists such as Peter Dinklage, Juliette Lewis, James Hatfield (lead singer of Metallica), Carla Gugino, Gill Bellows, Matt Damon, Diego Luna, John Travolta and Dwayne “The Rock “ Johnson. Derek continues to pursue is art in film and television as well as being a DJ. As a DJ he has opened up for such talented musicians as DJ Jazzy Jeff, Mix Master Mike, Skratch Bastid, Treble Charger, Swollen Members, and DJ Knowledge.
