Today I undergo surgery on my left eye. The old lens comes off and a new perfect one goes on. This operation is very safe and nearly foolproof. It is however vitally important to me. If my vision does not improve dramatically after replacing the lens and I still have terrible vision, then it means the macular degradation in the retina of my eye has deteriorated. If that has occurred, short of a miracle of God, it cannot be repaired. It is one of those dread diseases for which there currently is no cure.
