Streaming live on a global digital platform for the third consecutive year, the event was hosted by Kristen Bell, who returned to the role for her third time. This year marked the official rebranding of the ceremony to the "Actor Awards," a change intended to better reflect its position as an industry honor given to actors exclusively by their peers.
In the film categories, the production "Sinners" emerged as a major winner, securing the night’s top prize for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. The film’s lead, Michael B. Jordan, won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. On the female side, Jessie Buckley was recognized as the leading actress for her work in "Hamnet," completing a sweep of major seasonal precursors. Supporting honors were awarded to Sean Penn for his role in "One Battle After Another" and Amy Madigan for her performance in "Weapons". The stunt ensemble for "Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning" was also honored for its action performances.
Television honors saw significant success for the comedy series "The Studio," which swept all three of its nominated categories. The show won for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, while Seth Rogen took home the award for Male Actor in a Comedy Series. Additionally, the late Catherine O'Hara received a posthumous award for Female Actor in a Comedy Series, marking the first such television win in over two decades.
In the drama categories, "The Pitt" was recognized with the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. Its star, Noah Wyle, made television history by winning the Male Actor in a Drama Series award, becoming the only male actor to win five major industry awards (Emmy, Critics Choice, Golden Globe, TCA, and Actor Award) in a single season. Keri Russell won the award for Female Actor in a Drama Series for "The Diplomat". History was also made in the limited series categories as 16-year-old Owen Cooper became the youngest individual winner in the ceremony's history for his performance in "Adolescence". Michelle Williams was honored as the leading female actor in a limited series for "Dying for Sex".
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Life Achievement Award to legendary actor Harrison Ford. Introduced by Woody Harrelson, Ford delivered a moving speech reflecting on his six-decade career and expressing gratitude to his early collaborators.
The ceremony maintained several of its signature traditions, including the "I Am An Actor" opening segment, which featured stories from performers such as Michael J. Fox, Kristen Wiig, and Teyana Taylor. An "In Memoriam" tribute, introduced by Sarah Paulson, honored members of the acting community who passed away in 2025 and early 2026, including a performance by Miles Caton. The 32nd edition was also notable for featuring a live band for the first time.
