Notes:
Our best or worst days are rarely about things; they’re usually about relationships
It’s hard to win at life when we’re losing at our relationships
Close relationships, more than money or fame, are what keep people happy throughout their lives, the study revealed. -The Harvard Gazette
The only real power we have to fix relationships is to work on ourselves
I am the common factor in every one of my struggling relationships
“You can see the speck in your friend's eye, but you don't notice the log in your own eye. How can you say, ‘My friend, let me take the speck out of your eye,’
It’s natural to easily see the faults of others while being blinded about our own flaws. Always, always start by looking in the mirror first!
We struggle at relationships because we’re blind to the fact that we’re actually part of the problem
We ALL have…
- a distorted view of our own flaws
- soul damage that causes a warped response
- disordered desires that create dysfunction
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
