This week there’s big-money racing at three venues as Perth’s Pinnacles carnival gets into gear with the running of $1.5 million Group 1 Railway, Kembla Grange hosts the $1 million Gong and Cranbourne is the venue for the inaugural $1 million Meteorite. There’s also black-type racing at Doomben.
The carnival kicks on, with a dual Group 1 card at Caulfield and the $1 million Hunter at Newcastle. Queensland racing heads to the Sunshine Coast for Mooloolaba Cup day, things are warming up out west and it's New Zealand Cup day at Riccarton.
With three weight-for-age Group 1s worth $3 million apiece, the stars of the spring come out to play for one last time at Flemington. It's Five Diamonds day at Rosehill and the Riccarton carnival kicks off in Christchurch.
