Winning the Battle in Your Mind: Temptation

James 1:12-18

 

James 1:12 - "Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” (KJV)

 

1. ALL of us are tempted (vs 13: when we are…)

 

2. Take Responsibility (vs13: ‘…no one should say God is tempting me…’)

 

3. Be Prepared to face it (vs 14-16)

Learn how temptation works: Desire => Deception => Disobedience => Death

 

4. Redirect your thoughts (vs 17 - 18)

 

5. Give up Control (1Cor. 10:13)

 

- Accountability/Fellowship with other believers

- Get into the WORD
