Winter storm Kade has already strengthened to levels unanticipated by earlier model runs, and will continue to intensify over the next few days. Warm/moist air from the Gulf of Mexico is fueling the energy of this system, while a large digging trough brings down the cold air that is necessary for heavy snowfall.
