Good evening! I'm Aaron Jolly. And this is the Ohio Weather Podcast for Monday, February 23rd.

Folks, winter threw a light jab this morning. A dusting of snow. Temperatures sitting at 28 degrees. But the real fight is happening up in Northeast Ohio right now. A Winter Weather Advisory runs until 1 AM Tuesday. Lake effect snow is piling up one to four more inches through tonight. Winds are gusting to 30 miles an hour. By 8 PM, you're feeling 18 degrees out there even though the thermometer reads 22. Snow tapers after 10 PM, but those roads south of I-90 stay treacherous. Tonight's low bottoms out at 18 degrees around 6 AM.

Now slide down to Central Ohio. Isolated snow showers hang around until 10 PM. Less than half an inch. Winds shift from northwest to west around 5 AM. You'll dip to 20 degrees by 7 AM. But Tuesday? You're jumping to 39 degrees. A twenty degree warm up overnight.. Not bad.

Southwest Ohio barely got a postcard from winter today. A slight chance of snow around 5 PM, then clearing skies. Lows settle near 21 degrees by 8 AM. Tuesday pushes 43 degrees. And Wednesday hits 53. Cincinnati is basically speed running into March while Cleveland is still stuck in January.

One more thing worth celebrating. Sunset lands at 6:18 PM tonight. Two and a half more minutes of daylight. Small win, big mood boost.

Looking ahead, Tuesday brings a quick clipper system. Light snow up north, a dusting elsewhere. Wednesday is where it gets interesting. Southwest Ohio touches the mid 50s while the northeast barely cracks 40. Thursday drops another round of snow and rain mix. Then Friday and Saturday.. Sunshine returns. Columbus hits 48. Cincinnati flirts with 56. Even Cleveland warms to 48 by Saturday. Enjoy that window, because Sunday pulls us back to the 30s and 40s.

Keep those winter coats handy but maybe crack a window Wednesday. You'll want the fresh air.
