Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Wisconsin Weather Podcast — it's Tuesday, February 24th.
Alright, folks.. Today's got a split personality. We're talking snow this afternoon, then a warmup so wild you'll think your weather app is broken.
**The Snow Punch**
Northeast Wisconsin, you're first in line. Snow rolls in just after noon and hammers down until 3 PM. We're talking half an inch to an inch per hour at its peak around 2 PM. You'll pick up 1 to 2 inches total, with Door County seeing the highest amounts. Roads get slick fast, especially for that afternoon commute. Winds hold steady from the south at 12 miles an hour. Tonight, skies clear and temps crash to 13 degrees by 5 AM.
Southeast Wisconsin, your turn comes later. Snow arrives between 3 PM and 5 PM, peaking at 4 PM. You'll see less than half an inch, but here's the kicker — winds shift southwest around 1 PM and gust to 40 miles an hour. Step outside at 7 AM and it'll feel like 7 degrees, even though you're at 21.
South Central Wisconsin splits the difference. Snow moves through from 2 PM to 4 PM, with highs hitting 36 degrees by 2 PM. Winds gust to 35 miles an hour, making it feel colder than the thermometer suggests. You'll see less than half an inch before it clears out tonight.
**Friday's Plot Twist**
Here's where it gets interesting. Friday brings 50s — yes, fifties — across the state. Southeast Wisconsin hits 53 degrees. South Central climbs to 55. Even Northeast Wisconsin warms to 49. Then reality smacks us Saturday with 30s and light snow.
The rest of the week? Wednesday stays quiet and chilly with 20s and 30s. Thursday teases us with partly sunny skies and a slight chance of light snow. The weekend drops us back to the 20s and 30s with another cold punch Sunday.
Keep the scraper handy today, but don't put away the sunglasses just yet.
That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
