(Rock Hill, S.C.) -- Eagle Air hosted a special broadcast for Virtual Winthrop Day (April 25), which included interviews with students, faculty, staff and alumni, in order to give prospective students and families a look at what it's like to be part of the Winthrop community. We also asked people to share songs they would recommend for our #PandemicPlaylist.
In the fifth hour, we spoke with alumnus Bob Crawford (2003), bass player for the Grammy-nominated band The Avett Brothers, about his time at Winthrop and his experience as a musician. Crawford also discussed his interest in politics and his work on "The Road to Now" podcast. Additionally, we spoke with James Kevin Gray (1999), the minister for worship and music at St. John's Baptist Church in Charlotte, N.C., about his time at Winthrop. Gray was a music major at Winthrop and as a composer he has published numerous pieces of music.
