Local Planning Authorities have given permission to the Winton House Centre to repair the frontage of this listed building and to do so in the right way, to preserve its character.
The work is expensive but is wholly financed from the generous bequests they've received over the years.
The Centre, home to many local organisations and the Community Cafe, will remain open during the few weeks of work under scaffolding.
Dr Richard Philips is the chair of Trustees and spoke to fellow trustee Mike Waddington about the work.
