Wirecast Gear 3, Wirecast 15 for 4K Live Streaming
Telestream updated their systems to allow for live streaming up to 4K with their latest versions of the video streaming software and hardware. This will help productions up their streaming efforts and creating content for post-production. At NAB 2022, I talk with Mike to find out all the cool new features.
Wirecast Gear 3
Wirecast Gear 3 in SDI or HDMI options
The newest box has switched to an AMD Ryzen 5600X processor, giving you up to 6 cores/12 threads in the CPU. Along with that, Wirecast has brought in NVIDIA Quattro GPU for acceleration and encoding of video. All within a 2RU form factor box.
The SDI model has 4 -4K 60 12G inputs, along with a 1080 input/output connections for monitoring.
Other features of Wirecast Gear 3 include 16 GB RAM, a 250 GB NVMe M.2 SSD drive, dual GB Ethernet, 9 USB3.1 connections (no Thunderbolt), and
Four models available with SDI or HDMI options.
Gear 3 is available starting at $7499. Gear Care is also available – $995 for 3 Years.

Telestream also updated to Wirecast 15 back in April. This version fully supports 4K workflows. With the switch to DirectX12 acceleration on Windows, the CPU/GPU is under less stress, therefore lowering process.
It also means that inputs with different resolutions and frame rates will not stress out the machine. This allows creators to use different cameras as they upgrade to 4K workflows, and still bring in super sources and graphics.
Wirecast on Mac
Wirecast 15 also improved the Mac version, including cleaning up old code to really utilize the M1 processors inside.
Social Media Comments
If you’re using Twitter/Facebook, Wirecast has improved their social breakout, allowing someone to monitor comments and bring them into a live stream.

Subscription Model Added to Prices
Studio is still $599, Pro is $799 with a $100/year continued maintenance fee. However, if you need a license for only a couple months, Telestream is offering a subscription fee for $35/Month (including maintenance upgrade support).
