Hike-It-Baby introduces children from infants all the way to school aged kids and their families to hiking in the outdoors.  Hike-It-Baby has branches all throughout the United States and has 10 branches throughout Wisconsin.  Today I’m talking with Jami Rogers, the Co-Branch Ambassador for Hike-It-Baby for the Appleton Area.   We talked about why this is such a great way for families to get out and hike.

During the pandemic, many events have been canceling in the recent weeks.  And that has us asking, "What's next and what's left for our summer?" I want you to start thinking about those things that you've always wished you had time to do. This is the time to pick something off that bucket list.

Fishing season is here and that means it’s time to enjoy some quality time with buddies and see who can reel in the big one.  Today I’m talking to Bob LeRoy, the newly elected president of the Wisconsin Fishing Club. 

I talked with Bob about some things to remember as the fishing season gets underway and he offers some tips for some one interested in getting into the sport of fishing.

During this time we can be filled with negative story after negative story.  I say don’t worry about things you can’t control; enjoy the things you can control.  You can control how you react to all of this. You can control how you spend your time.  Spring is here, get out an enjoy this time with your family.  Take your pets for more walks than they want.  Feel the sunshine on your face and take advantage of this time you’ve been given as you head out to be one of Wisconsin’s Outdoor Explorers

My guest today is looking forward to seeing the flowers bloom and not just because he likes their beauty.  You see flowers and blossoms are a huge part of his life and business.  Where there are blossoms, so are his bees.  Today I’m talking with Kent Pegorsch.  Kent has been a beekeeper for over 40 years and is currently the president of Wisconsin Honey Producers.

Having a garden and caring for plants is a great way to get outdoors. The hours that can be spend caring for your outdoor plants can be relaxing and refreshing. I wanted to learn more and that’s why on this podcast I asked Stephanie O’Neal, the president of the Wisconsin Hardy Plant Society. We talked about what classifies as a hardy plant, some things to think about before you begin planting and why it’s important to think about native plants.

Spring is officially here and that means the snow turns to rain. And at times, those April showers turn in severe weather. Do you now what you would do if severe weather happens and you’re out on a hike or floating down a river?  This week, I’m bringing back Justin Poublon from Wisconsin Weather to talk a little bit about severe weather in Wisconsin.  What things we should watch for and I asked him to give us a few tips if you find yourself out on the trails if severe weather should pop up.
