Have you ever been at a crossroads in life, unsure of which road to take? Over the years, I’ve found myself in this situation so many times. When I was a young man, I had planned on going to school in England and becoming an attorney, a lawyer. I had always thought that this would be my destiny. Then, when I came to my faith, I suddenly began to see things differently. I felt God urging me to spread His Good News—to make that my whole life. Suddenly, I was at a place where I had to choose between going off to a fancy school to study law in England, or setting out as a missionary. I wanted to have peace about my decision, so I prayed to God for wisdom and guess what? He calmed my heart, gave me assurance, and—well—here I am today!
One of the many awesome attributes of God is His wisdom. The Bible says in Romans 11:33, “Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!” In life, we will all face times where we don’t know what to do; this is when, as Christians, we can lean into the infinite knowledge and wisdom of our Creator. “If anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously,” the book of James says.
This week, talk to God about something you need wisdom for. Then, tell others about the peace He’s given you. This is Luis Palau.
