How can we invest in eternal things? How can we use material riches here on earth so that God will reward us with spiritual riches in eternity?

The Panhellenic Games were the most exciting and enjoyable events of the Grecian calendar.  The Games were religious festivals, but they were more.  They were like a sacred festival, a national fair, a trade mart, and a national athletic competition all wrapped into one. Paul compares the believer in the Christian life to an athlete in the Games. He challenges all believers to run in such a way that they will win. He reminds believers that the prize we are running for is far mote than a perishable wreath. Join me was we discover the true nature of our rewards.

We saw that all we have said and done that is wood, hay, and straw will go up in smoke, while all we have said and done that is gold, silver, or precious stones all be imperishable and will be rewarded.
