How do you measure success? Is it wealth? Is it power? Is it influence? Is it possessions? Is it popularity? No. Those are not the critical measure of success. A person could have all of those and still not be successful.

Today's podcast has a shocking title: "How to Lose Your Mind. " I know that is not something you want to do. But sadly, it is does happen for some people. There can be a myriad of reasons for mental instability. Some people have a chemical imbalance that issues in mental instability. Some people have a drug problem that issues in mental instability. But this study reveals that mental instability can also come from persisting in sin and seeking to rationalize sinful behavior.

Faith does not mean naming what we want and claiming what wewant. Faith does not mean getting our own way. Faith does not mean demanding our way and commanding our way. Faith is trusting God... trusting God to know what is best and trusting God to do what is best. Faith is entrusting ourselves and our future to God. Join me as we see Jonathan manifest faith in God!

Waiting! We all have difficulty with this task. We don’t like to wait in lines. We don’t like to wait at a red light.  We don’t like to wait for service. We don’t like to wait for a package to arrive.  We don’t like to wait when the freeway becomes a parking lot. We like things to be instant. Click a button, flip a switch, hit a key. We want what we want when we want it.  This tendency is challenged in The Scripture where we are told to "Wait on the Lord!" Join us as we dig into this study of waiting on the Lord.

In the book of Judges we see the following cycles: Success, Sin, Subjugation, Supplication, Savior; Success, Sin, Subjugation, Supplication, Savior. Over and over the people of Israel , when in a time of success, became complacent, and compromised, and forsook the Lord. Then the Lord allowed them to be subjugated and the people cried out for deliverance. God in His loyal love would then raise up a savior, a judge, who would defeat their subjugators, and enable them to enjoy freedom and victory.

Today's episode of Wisdom from Above looks at this pattern of sin and seeks to speak clearly about "How to Deal with Sin."

Some people struggle with defeat. Some people struggle with victory. The Israelite people of Jabesh Gilead were about to be crushed by Nahash and his Ammonite army. They were filled with fear instead of faith. They were weeping instead of warring. They were desperately depending on others for help. God raised up Saul and the Holy Spirit moved upon Saul, and this became the catalyst that led to victory over the Ammonites. How would Saul handle the victory?
