Trials are the vehicle by which God makes Himself known to us, so we can "count it all joy...when we encounter trials of various kinds;" we can know that the testing of our faith produces steadfastness (James 1:2-3). We can look for a sense of joy and well-being that comes from knowing that God is at work on our behalf.
