Britain’s motor racing driver Jamie Chadwick is our top story this week having clinched the 2021 W Series title. Jamie’s consistency this season showed how talented a driver she is and as a development driver for the Williams team she is poised to move up to Formula 1. It’s been 40 years since a woman was on the starting grid of Formula 1 and now there are a number of women hungry to achieve that ultimate ambition. World Cup seasons in Skiing and Dressage took place last weekend with American Mikaela Shiffrin winning the Giant Slalom in Soelden ahead of Switzerland’s Lara Gut-Behrami. And Danish rider Cathrine Dufour aboard the 18 year old Atterupgaards Cassidy won the first leg of the FEI Dressage World Cup 2021/2022 Western European League on home soil in Herning ahead of compatriots Carina Cassøe Krüth and Heiline’s Danciera with the Dutch duo of Dinja van Liere and Hermes in third. Germany’s eventing queen Ingrid Klimke showed her versatility aboard the 13 year old stallion Franziskus 15 finishing seventh of the 14 riders. Plus there is news in football, tennis, gymnastics field hockey, netball and running.
