With All My Heart

“I will praise You, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonderful deeds.” — Psalm 9:1.

What stands out most in this verse? David doesn’t just say “I will praise You” — he says “with all my heart.” It’s not a routine praise or one done for appearance. It’s a praise that rises from deep within — from the very soul.

But let’s be honest: how many times do we sing, pray, or talk about God on autopilot? We sing the songs, but our heart is somewhere else. We pray, but our mind is on our phone, our worries, or our to-do list. David knew that God isn’t impressed by fancy words, but by a genuine heart.

To praise God with all your heart means recognizing who He is, even when life feels like it’s falling apart. It’s choosing to give thanks not only for the victories, but also for the process. It’s deciding that God deserves the first place — not what’s left of your time, your energy, or your faith.

And look at what David says next: “I will tell of all Your wonderful deeds.” That means true praise doesn’t stay trapped inside. It overflows! When you talk about God’s blessings — how He sustained you, healed you, forgave you, protected you — that’s also praise. It’s testimony. It’s gratitude in action.

Maybe today your heart feels divided. Maybe God has slipped into second place, and your worship has become routine. But God still wants your whole heart. He wants to hear your praise from sincerity, not obligation. He wants to feel that even through tears, you still exalt Him for who He is.

Take a moment today. Close your eyes and ask yourself: Has my praise been with all my heart — or just with my lips? If you realize that something’s been missing, return to your first love. Give your heart — all of it — back to Him. Because when your heart belongs to God, your praise comes alive… and your life gains purpose.

“Lord, teach me to praise You with all my heart. Let my love for You be stronger than my weariness, more sincere than my words, and more constant than life’s storms. Receive my whole heart. Amen.”
