In this episode, Dr. DeHaan, an infectious disease specialist and assistant professor of clinical medicine at Weill Cornell talks about his experience in treating COVID19 patients and shares his knowledge and insight with us. Dr. Elliot DeHaan has worked as a clinician, clinical educator, and administrator of HIV, HCV, and HIV prevention programs at academic medical centers and community health centers in New York City for the past 10 years. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Weill Cornell where he joined in 2017. He provides comprehensive primary care to HIV-infected persons as well as chemoprophylaxis for HIV prevention at the Center for Special Studies. He also serves as a clinical consultant for the Weill Cornell chapter of the AIDS Education Training Center (AETC), providing didactic teaching on HIV/ID topics and teleconferencing support to community health centers of NYC. He has been a member of the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute (DOH AI) Medical Care Criteria Committee (MCCC) since 2015.
Prior to his time at Cornell, he was an attending physician at Montefiore Medical Center (2010-2012), Community Healthcare Network (Associate Medical Director of HIV Services, 2012-2014), and SUNY Downstate Medical Center (Director of HCV Services at the STAR Health Center, 2014-2017).
