Triple threat Dr. Archie Boston Jr. is a world-class designer, Hall of Fame art director, and decorated educator who has dedicated a six-decade career to design in service of social purpose. A self-described “spiritual designer,” Dr. Boston made history as the first African American president of the Art Directors Club of Los Angeles and was awarded an honorary doctorate from the prestigious Royal College of Art.

Across 30 years as professor and department chair at California State University, Long Beach, Dr. Boston built a powerful pipeline of designers and advertising creatives—shaping generations whose work will carry his influence forward. His legacy lives not only in accolades, but in the people he mentored and inspired.
