The Australian dollar has recently been trading around two and a half year highs against the US currency - testing the waters above 81 US cents.

While some analysts forecast the Aussie is underpinned by strong fundamentals and will go as high as 90 US cents by next year others say it's expensive at current value and will be coming back to Earth.
