Hello and welcome to the very first episode of Wives and Knives a true crime podcast with your hosts Dani & Kelly.

Wives and Knives was created in early 2020 when we discovered that we, a like minded group of general weirdos had a mutual interest in true crime. It started as a weekly zoom call during lock down and has developed into this! We love researching and creating this content and hope you enjoy listening.

Please note that we are not pretending to be professionals in this field and all the information we will tell you is available to the public. We are simply collating everything we find and presenting it to you in the form of a podcast.

For the first episode we have chosen to look at the case of Charlene Downes.

Charlene Downes was born 25th March 1989 to parents Karen and Bob Downes. She had 2 sisters , Emma and Becky and one brother Robert Jnr and a grandma who lived with them called Lena. Charlene was born in Walsall, Coventry before moving to Blackpool in 1999. Her case is shrouded in here say, police ups and undoubtedly a wall of lies; it has taken years to get a full picture of Charlenes life and her case is still open.
