Bridie Griffin from Kilmacthomas has been reflecting on her remarkable life as she celebrated her 105th birthday on January 4th.

Bridie spoke to WLR's Kieran Foley along with her granddaughter Laura.

Numerous fundraising sea swims took place over the festive period across County Waterford, including one of the largest, the Michael Power Memorial Swim at Kilmurrin Cove. WLR's Kieran Foley attended and spoke to some of those involved.

Waterford people have been making their way home for Christmas from across the world, with Cork Airport in particular welcoming many Deise folk back to Irish soil. WLR's Kieran Foley made a trip to the airport this week to chat to some of those in the terminal.

2025 saw a huge emphasis on the supports available for men at Waterford's Solas Cancer Support Centre.

Griffin Auctioneers in Tramore last week hosted a fundraising coffee morning for the centre.

This event was also used as an opportunity to highlight the supports available for men.

Active Travel measures being implemented in Kilmacthomas were discussed at length at last week's Comeragh District meeting of Waterford City and County Council. 

The new changes have proved contentious in the local area, and a number of different councillors outlined their views at the meeting. 

You'll hear from them in this report, as well as Senior Engineer Gabriel Hynes who responded and defended the new changes.

A Mayoral Reception was hosted by the Mayor of Waterford City and County, Cllr. Seamus Ryan, on Tuesday 18th November in the Mayor’s Parlour, City Hall, for Waterford Community Gardaí.

The event was in recognition of serving the people of Waterford by engaging with local groups, businesses, and organisations to promote and ensure community safety.
